MBA的英文全称为“Master of Business Administration”,是一种应用型管理学硕士学位。美国的MBA教育从创立直至今日的一百多年里一直兴盛不衰,对社会和经济的发展都产生了深远影响。随着中国经济的持续高速发展,中国社会对高级专业管理人才的需求也越来越大。在这种背景下,作为培养此类人才的MBA教育也理所当然地日益受到社会的关注。

中国的MBA教育在过去十几年中飞速发展,但是其目前存在着一些问题,减缓了中国MBA教育的进一步发展。本报告运用比较教育学的国别专项研究框架,深入探讨了美国西北大学Kellogg商学院MBA教育发展的状况,并对如何提高中国MBA教育的办学质量提出了对策建议。

本报告共分为三个部分。第一个部分主要是对国外MBA教育的产生、发展和当前情况进行了一个简单的概述,从而勾勒出国外MBA教育的全貌。第二个部分追溯了美国西北大学Kellogg管理学院MBA教育的历史发展进程,主要涉及Kellogg学院的创建、沿革和成就。第三个部分总结了Kellogg管理学院MBA教育的特色,从培养目标、人才规格、招生、办学、课程设置、教学方法和质量评估等方面剖析了Kellogg管理学院MBA教育的现状,并对其发展趋势进行了分析。从以上三个方面的研究中可以得出Kellogg管理学院独特的管理教学模式、以市场为导向经营理念和创新思想为它的进一步发展奠定了良好的基础。

Abstract

 

MBA is the abbreviation of “Master of Business Administration”,and it is one kind of the degrees of M. Administration. The MBA education in America is so approbatory that it is consistently prosperous, which makes a great achievement in the development of society and economy in more than one hundred years from its outset. As Chinese economy is developing at a high speed,the society is in greater and greater need of high-level management personnel. Therefore,the education of MBA,aiming at cultivating such kind of personnel,naturally receives more and more attention from the society.

MBA education in China has been developing quickly in the past decades, but there are some problems that impeding the vigorous development of MBA education under the present situation. According to the frame of comparative education between nations,the MBA education in Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University is elementarily studied and gives some strategic suggestions on improving the MBA education in China as well.

This report consists three parts. Firstly,It gives a brief introduction to the emergence,development and status quo of foreign MBA education,thus providing a full view of the MBA education abroad. Part two traces back to the history and development of the MBA education in Kellogg School of Management,involving its initiatives,innovations and awards. Part three further concludes the characteristics of MBA education in Kellogg School of Management through the analysis of the living state and the deduction of developing tendency,ranging form objects of education,the standards of the students,student enrollment,school management,curriculum arrangement,teaching methods,quality assessment and so on. From the above three areas of research, we can draw that the Kellogg School’s unique management mode, the Market-oriented operational concepts and innovative ideas establish a good foundation for its further development.
