On the afternoon of May 26, "Dongfeng Honda Cup" Spring Running Festival of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and MBA Healthy Running Activity of Central China starts. Liu Shujuan, Zeng Qing, Wang Weihua and Li Wei,as representatives of MBA class and Alumni, have participated in this competition. Liu Shujuan won the fourth place in the women's group.
I have participated in several marathons. I have doubted why a 5-kilometer race drew so big attention and have so many procedures. After a complicated application, we need to claim equipment in another time and gather at the Optics Valley Square on the day that the race starts. Is it worth? However, when I finally stood on the tree-lined track and crossed the finish line after 24 minutes and 55 seconds of physical and mental suffering and won the fourth place in the MBA women’s group, I had the answer in my heart: worth it! There are energetic students, wise teachers, MBA elites on the track and there is no difference in age and identity when they are racing together. They are all fearless runners who start at the same standing line and running bravely towards the same end!
I have a good body with strong physical endurance but I do not have much explosive strength, so I have no advantage in short-distance running. It usually takes 30 minutes for me to finish 5-kilometer race. I was planning to race like exercise during this competition. But I changed my mind to put all effort in it when I saw all the competitors were running past me when it started and I felt the fire in my heart is lighted.There were several gentle slopes on the track. My heart rate rises rapidly and my breath is heavy. “How about stop and walk for a while? Anyway, finishing the race is enough. I am not here for the ranking. Why pushing myself so hard?” I struggled with those thought in my mind just like the same when I am at the second half of Marathon each time. But I did not slow down and I passed the finish line with great joy. I enjoy running, no matter for 5-kilometer or 42.195-kilometer Marathon or 53-kilometer cross-country race.Running enables me to get along with myself and I can feel the strength of my heart, my breath and my feet on the solid ground. I can know my shortcomings and weaknesses and accept it with my open heart. It helps me overcome it see a different self beyond imagination.

There are skills in running, or one could get hurt in knees, ankles or respiratory system. Without appropriate environment, running could affect others. One must have spirit support, or it could be difficult for them be successful in running. It is the same as in life, study and working. Success will not be far away if we stay at the right place, follow the rules and have sprite in mind.
Wang Weihua(2016 MBA class)
We will be sweaty and relaxed after running. We can here the inner voice of oneself and learn to be brave and persistent. Our will and mind can be strengthen in running and it help to build a better self. The good virtues that running bring to us is the same as in the MBA spirit, be innovative, active and motivated.The way you run is the way to improve your spirit! Let's run together, let life blossom brilliantly like flower!
