(Source: Hanwang) On December 22-23, the first council meeting of the Alumni Entrepreneurs' Association of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (hereinafter referred to as the Association) was held at the headquarters of Gree Electric Appliance, Inc .of Zhuhai. Ms. Dong Mingzhu, a 2008 EMBA alumna of ZUEL, was appointed as the first chairperson of the Association. Luan Yongyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUEL, issued an employment letter to Ms. Dong Mingzhu.

The MBA program of ZUEL relies on the characteristics and specialties of the school's disciplines in economy, management and law, and continuously optimizes the MBA training model with integration of that. Over the past 20 years, it has trained a large number of business leaders and management talents with the integrated knowledge of economy, management and law. It has become most unique MBA education project in China.

Ms. Dong Mingzhu was the former chairperson of Gree and the current chairperson and president of Gree Electric Appliance, Inc .of Zhuhai. The reason for her to choose EMBA program of our university is that this program integrates knowledge of economy, management and law in its training.

It is reported that Dong Mingzhu, as a big figure in the industry, together with ZUEL attract 500 outstanding alumni to invest in the event of “Wuhan Alumni Fund and Talent Coming Home Campaign” held at ZUEL in September 2017. A total of 27 projects were signed in the event, with a total investment of 154.6 billion yuan which create a new record on ZUEL alumni invest in Wuhan.

At the meeting, Director Dong Mingzhu shared the experience on establishing the Association, and analyzed its characteristics and difficulties. She emphasized that ZUEL is a university that focus on nurturing practical and flexible talents, and members of the Association could use this platform to keep in touch with each other and maintain friendship. She hopes that members could share trust and help each other. She also expressed her wish to establish an efficient Secretary Committee. She encouraged everyone to give suggestions for the development of the Association. In her opinion, the principles and discipline are very important, and every member must obey. For the development of Association, members have to challenge themselves and be tolerant to the loneliness. She hopes that all alumni and entrepreneurs could work together and be fearless of the hardship and move forward to a bright future. She said that as the first chairperson, she will work hard and work together with all members of the Association in the future.

During the meeting, Dong showed the delegates the exhibition hall and production workshop of Gree. At the symposium, Dong also introduced the development of Gree to everyone and shared her experience. In these two days, alumni entrepreneurs shared friendship, talked about cooperation, offered suggestions and planned the future, which laid a solid foundation for the future development of the Association.

     According to Secretary-General Tong Chonglin, the Association was founded on October 28, 2018, on the seventieth anniversary of ZUEL, and more than 40 alumni entrepreneurs joined in. In line with the theme of "open, inclusive, cooperative and sharing", the Association aims to broaden business resources, build top business platforms, provide first-class public welfare service and cultivate future business leaders. The mission of the Association is to strengthen the connection and communication between ZUEL and the alumni entrepreneurs at home and abroad; build a platform for exchange and cooperation, promote resource sharing and mutual development; to gather the wisdom and power of the members, actively organize public welfare activities to give back to society and honor the university; to provide innovative entrepreneurship counseling for teachers, students and alumni, and help the transformation of scientific research achievements, provide equity investment and financing services. Adhering to the spirit of "perseverance, perseverance, challenge and dedication", under the flag of ZUEL, with the correct guidance of Dong Mingzhu and the strong support of all alumni entrepreneurs, we will surely live up to the expectations of the public and work hand in hand to create a better tomorrow for the Association.
