In order to expand the vision of MBA School and the improve the exchanges and communication of the students. In the morning of 3rd of June, 2017, led by Professor WEN Hao, vice dean of MBA School, our Grade 2016 MBA students go to China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group for site visit.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as MBEC) is a large engineering contractor and investor with integrated capabilities of bridge scientific research, engineering design and civil construction, equipment research and development, mainly specialized in construction of various bridges over rivers, lakes and seas under complex or severe geological and environmental conditions.

MBEC is granted premium grade general contracting qualification for municipal public engineering, railway engineering and road engineering, in addition to Grade one specialist contracting qualification for bridge engineering, tunnel engineering, railway track laying and beam erection engineering, road embankment engineering and port & coastal engineering. Besides, MBEC has obtained design qualifications of Railway Industry Grade A(II), Highway Industry Grade A and Municipal Public Engineering Industry Grade A.

Always leading development of bridge industry in China, MBEC has designed and built the most bridges in the world. Till now, the number of bridges built by MBEC has reached over 2600 with total length of more than 2600km. In particular, MBEC has a strong hold of unique technical superiority in construction of large-span road bridge, railway bridge, multi-purpose bridge, super-long sea crossing and large-span bridge over deep canyon and achieves leading authorities in the world. Since the date of establishment, MBEC has won a lot of prizes including National Award for Science and Technology Progress (32 items), Top 100 Classic & Competitive Projects on the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China (10 items), Luban Prizes for China Construction Projects (34 items), Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Prize (26 items), George S. Richardson Medal (6 items) and 558 patents at home and abroad.

After get to know the introduction and history of MEBC, we visit their bridge museum, during the visit, our alumni in the group gives us a detailed introduction of the varied kinds of bridges. 

After the museum visit, we came to their conference hall to enjoy their publicity video, and we get a better understanding about the modern engineering management and the roles of the bridge that play. 

The final stop of our visit is to visit the construction site, in stead of dusts in the air, the site is in good order.

In the end of the day, the students express their gratitude for the hospitality of the Group and hope a great future for it.
