The MBA Case Study Seminar was held in Room 209, Wenjin Building of Shouyi Campus in the morning of November 29, 2018. The seminar was jointly organized by the Department of Human Resource Management, the MBA Education Center and the Department of Marketing Management. The topic of the seminar was “development and management of human resource”. The speaker was Associate Professor HE Bo, from Southwest University of Science and Technology. Our 2018 MBA students, some teachers of the MBA Education Center and some experts from Wuhan University and Huazhong Agricultural University attended the seminar.
Professor HE took the case of Tie-qi-li-shi Group as the teaching material and asked the students seven thought-provoking questions. The teacher-student interaction was very active, during which the students thought carefully about the positive influences of incentive mechanism on human resource management. Through the explanation of the multi-level system of incentive theory, Professor HE further explored different cognitive attitudes towards the motivation of human resource.
The course was divided into four stages. The first one was the preparation stage, during which the students read the case and got a general idea of the five stories in the case. During the second stage, Professor HE made a brief introduction to Tie-qi-li-shi Group. During the third stage, Professor HE asked some questions about the five stories in the case and wrote down the key points of students’ answers. During the last stage, Professor HE gave feedback to the students based on related incentive theories. Dr. ZHANG Hongliang, the teaching assistant introduced how they developed this case and what should be taken into consideration while developing cases.
