In the afternoon of 8^th November, SHEN Wei, the general manager of Human Resource Departments of China Life Insurance (Zhejiang), also our Grade 2012 EMBA students, was appointed to be the mentor of the master study of applied statistics. The appointment ceremony was hosted by ZHANG Hu, the vice dean of School of Statistics and Mathematics, along with ZHAO Xinquan, dean of the School, LI Xianzhuo, party secretary of the School. ZHAO extended his warm welcome to SHEN and hoped that the future cooperation between the School and the group will be conducted any sooner.

    After the ceremony, SHEN gave two seminars on the development trends of the Age of Insurance and how to improve the professional qualities. SHEN said with the development of time, insurance industry plays more and more important role in people’s daily lives. By comparing the data and index between China and USA, we still have a great potential of development. Besides, SHEN also gave his opinions on people’s concerning questions, like the internship and the employment. He said the most important work to do for those undergraduates is to learn more and the ability on time management. In order to maintain your own competency, you should learn things with clear aim. When you set foot in one industry, it is important to be modest and positive. In the Q&A session, he answered all kinds of questions raised by the students, and was warmly welcomed with his vivid languages and abundant contents.
