In the afternoon of June 9, Mingzhu Dong (a ZUEL alumna, well-known entrepreneur, Chairwoman and President of GREE) delivered a speech at ZUEL. She was invited to take part in the 20 anniversary of our MBA education. Nearly 1, 000 students attended her speech.
She shared her management experience through brief but persuasive sentences. Such as, “I am and will always be a person who make and sell air-conditioners”, “for an enterprise, the only way towards success is honest”, and “the best service is one without after-sale service”. She had been adhering to these words for more than 20 years in GREE.
She used two words, innovation and humanity, to summarize the management of GREE. Ms. Dong placed great importance on innovation of system. For example, she figured out her own way to deal with loss of talents, a common problem faced by many enterprises. Her methods were about reasonable salary distribution, considerable attention to the employees, and opportunities for career development.
As for humanity, she didn’t mean standards full of humanity, but a humane supervision system. Through this system, the employees at the ground level could supervise managers at the higher level.
After the speech, she answered several questions and gave freely her books with signature.
