On April 2nd, Gu Qiang, Deputy Director of Planning Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, gave a lecture of “New stage of industrialization in China and selection of path to Industrial transformation and upgrading” in Wen Hong Academic Hall, a large number of graduate students and local corporate investors were attracted to the lecture. The session was jointly organized by the MBA School and the School of Business Administration.
During the lecture, Gu Qiang pointed out that the economic development is the foundation of social modernization drive, but the core of economic development relies on the industries. He expressed his own views about the opportunities and challenges, the path of industrial transformation, and the thinking on building China into an industrial power. When talked about the opportunities and challenges, he said, “we still have a long way to go for building an industrial civilization with Chinese characteristics and with a certain soft power. We should persist in an innovative and reasonable industrial competition. When talked about the current slow economic growth, he said that the reason why the development of the new industriesfailed to reach the anticipation, one was that the maturity process of an industry needs time(usually 8-10 years); the second is , the strategic role of Chinas largest market is not on its full play. When talked about the future development trend, Gu said The Third Industrial Revolution(a new type of economics based on the combination of Internet and new energy) may rise in the future process of industrialization, including 3D intelligent printing and service-oriented manufacturing At last, Mr Gu generally introduced the path of industrial transformation, and the objectives and content of building China into an industrial power. He proposed that China should focus oncultivating basic capabilities, improving the products, controlling quality flucturations, securing own soft power; Emerging industries, such as the Internet of Things, broadband electronic information, are key projects of national development.Furthermore, China needs to improve the right to speak concerning the global value chain.
