The Second International Forum on New Development of Valuation was held in Wuhan on November 10^th and 11^th, 2012. The Forum was organized by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), and co-organized by China Appraisal Society (CAS), American Society of Appraisers (ASA), Valuation Research Centre of Xiamen University and School of Public Finance and Taxation of CUEB. The executive undertaker was MBA School of ZUEL. The Forum was aimed at exploring the best practice method and new development trend in the field of intangible assets and business value and promoting international exchange on assets appraisal. Appraisal experts and scholars from America, China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, together with four media units, took part in the Forum. Porfessor Handong Wu (President of ZUEL), Fan Hu (Vice Director of the Leading Group Office of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration of Central Cultural Enterprise, Ministry of Finance), Zhiyu Gao (Inspector at the Deputy Departmental Level of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council), Professor Xiaojun Chen (Vice President of ZUEL), Guohang Wang (Head of the System Office, Enterprise Department of Ministry of Finance), Jin’e Zhao (Training Director of CAS), Dahan Li (Co-chairman of ASA China), Hongwei Dong (Director of Wuhan Intellectual Property Bureau), Baoguo Chen (Deputy Director of Wuhan Intellectual Property Bureau), Professor Haisu Wang (Dean of MBA School, ZUEL) and other related leaders were present at the Forum. Others who were present included scholars from China’s universities and colleges, experts from American Appraisal Company, Taiwan Wau Yuan Property Appraisal Co. Ltd., PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, China United Assets Appraisal Group, Shanghai Lixin Appraisal Group etc., and candidate masters majored in assets appraisal enrolled in 2011 and 2012 by ZUEL.

    The topic of the Forum was “Exploration and Valuation of Business Value Driven by Intangible Assets”. The attending scholars and experts made key-note speeches and exchanged their opinions with each other. The Forum was said to show the latest research results and development trend of the theory and practice of assets appraisal and provide an exchange platform for the experts and scholars.

    At the Closing Ceremony, Professor Yicheng Ji (Director of the Valuation Research Centre of Xiamen University) invited the present experts and scholars to attend the 3^rd International Forum on New Development of Valuation which will be held next year in Xiamen University.
