Network News (Reporter: Disi Ma): On October 23^rd, the contract signing ceremony of the co-construction of ZUEL by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and Hubei Province was grandly held in Wenquan Bilding of ZUEL. Yubo Du (Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education), Jun Wang (Deputy Minister of Ministry of Finance) and Xiaodong Wang (Executive Vice Governor of Hubei Province) signed the contract on behalf of the three parts and delivered important speeches. Guosheng Wang (Deputy Secretary of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Hubei Province), Weiping Yu (Member of the Leading Party group of Ministry of Finance, Minister assistant) were present at the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Shenglian Guo, Deputy Governor of Hubei Province. Professor Handong Wu, President of ZUEL, delivered the welcome address on behalf of ZUEL and expressed his sincere thankfulness to Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Hubei Provincial Party Committee and government.

    Xiaodong Wang said that the co-construction of ZUEL by the Ministries and Hubei Province was an important action to carry out the Outline of National Education Reform Program. Jun Wang said that the signing of the contract brought ZUEL to a new development period. Yubo Du said that the co-construction contract would firmly promote the reform and development of ZUEL.

    After their speeches, Yubo Du, Ju Wang and Xiaodong Wang signed the contract and exchanged the signed contract. According to the contract, Ministry of Education will increase its support of ZUEL from aspects like funds, policy, subject construction, talents cultivation, scientific research and construction of teaching staff. Ministry of Finance will enhance its guidance and support of ZUEL from aspects like subject construction, talents cultivation, scientific research, construction of teaching staff and social service. Hubei Province will support ZUEL’s participation in the economic construction and social development of Hubei Province and include ZUEL into Hubei’s system of talents cultivation and technological innovation.

    The co-construction of ZUEL is a concrete action of carrying out the Outline of National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Program and the spirit of Secretary Jintao Hu’s speech on Tsinghua University’s 100^th Anniversary. The co-construction of ZUEL is of great significance.
