On October 10th, associate Professor Li Qingfang from Shih Chien University gave two lectures in Room 205 of Wenjin Building. His topics were “how to do qualitative research” and “practices of case research”.
Associate Professor Li Qingfang is a teacher of the Department of International Business, Shih Chien University. In recent years, he has focused his researches on qualitative research, knowledge management, inter-cultural cooperation, innovative study and service innovation. He has also been exploring and sharing the Mind Mapping analysis method.
Before his lectures, Professor Zou Bingguo, assistant to the ZUEL President, conferred a letter of appointment to Mr. Li, hiring him as a guest professor of MBA School.
During the lecture in the morning, Mr. Li introduced his “8356 skill” of qualitative research. “8” means 8 words to describe what qualitative research is; “3” refers to 3 methods to improve one’s sensitivity; “5” means 5 skills of innovative thinking; and “6” means 6 advices of doing qualitative research. And he shared the first three of his skills in the morning lecture.
In the afternoon, he talked about how to do case study based on his own experience. And he shared the last part of his “8356 skill”, namely the 6 advices of doing qualitative research. The first advice was the field work; the second advice was the research method; the third advice was to clarify the structure of the research; the forth advice was about the writing habit; the fifth advice was to construct the frame, relationship and situation so as to connect with theories; the last advice was about the innovative description.
His lectures turned out to be a great success, gaining thunderous applause from the audience.
