The highest award in the field of international trade in China is the AN Zijie International Trade Research Award. Professor QIAN Xuefeng of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law has been awarded with the third prize for his outstanding dissertation since he won the same prize last year.
The dissertation of his, Chinese experience on the diversification of the export market and on the enterprise productivity, was published on Chinese Social Science Digest. The dissertation systematically shows the annual government work report and the National Five-Year Development Programme since 1985, while summarizing the historical causes and facts to the diversification of the export market in China. Furthermore, he also set up quantitative method for trade model, while analyzing the internal relations between the diversification and the productivity. The dissertation is a good example for understanding how the trade policies in China are made.
The Eighteenth AN Zijie International Trade Research Award was launched in March 2014. The judging panel is made up with renowned experts from home and abroad. For this time, the first prize for academic work has not decided yet, and three works have been awarded the second prize, five works as the third prize; For the outstanding dissertations, 20 dissertations have been awarded, while only 1 for the first prize and 4 for the second prize.
