In the afternoon of 17^th Nov. 2014, CAO Xiangdong, the new adjunct professor of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) gave a wonderful lecture on innovative thinking in WENHUI Building. Before the lecture, CAO was award the letter of appointment  as the adjunct professor of ZUEL, by professor WANG Haisu, the emeritus dean of MBA School.
 

    CAO analyzes the features of the always-changing internet, and introduces his own business mode based on his own experiences, and scientific research. Other than the old traditional thoughts of “changing the destiny by the knowledge we have”, CAO preferred “changing the destiny by the thinking mode we have” in terms of enterprise innovation and development. He emphasizes the balance between career and life. He thought we should add six new words in the dictionary of our life, that is “sports, meditation, cultivation, health , achievement and happiness”. What the real success is the peace in physical and psychological. CAO also shared his scientific research—the femtosecond laser as the case to discuss with the students, and the price of being innovative has become a hotspot during his Q&A session.

Introduction of CAO Xiangdong:

    He obtained his doctorate degree in the University of Rochester, and continued his post doctorate study in the University of Michigan. After working at US for 20 years, he found his own company Qtera and worked as the supervisor of the Technology Department of SIMENS. He is the CEO of an optical communication-related company in Wuhan and the specially-appointed National Optoelectronic Technology Lab.
