ZUEL ranks the 14th on Chinas top 50 universities for producing millionaires 2014, according to the 2014 China University Disciplinary Evaluation Report which was edited and released by China alumni network on May 27th. 3000 entrepreneurs are listed on China Rich Lists in 15 years and 60% of them have college diploma, making them entrepreneurial role models.According to the report, more than 60% of millionaire entrepreneurs listed on China Rich Lists such as Hurun Rich List, ForbesHurun Rich List, Southern Weekly Hurun Rich List and New WealthHurun Rich List during 1999-2013 have college diploma. They are therefore dubbed as “Entrepreneurial Role Models for Chinese College Students”. It is pointed out in the report that the number of entrepreneur alumina, being regarded as the most accurate, reasonable, fair and objective indicator measuring quality of graduates of a university and evaluating its innovation and entrepreneurship education can show the university’s contribution to national economic development through talents cultivation. According to Deputy professor Feng Yongjun, a consultant expert on university application in China, university research team member of China alumni network and PhD of Xiamen University, about 1800 or 62.25% of all millionaire entrepreneurs listed on China Rich Lists such as Hurun, Forbes, Southern Weekly and New Wealth during 1999-2013 once received higher education in more than 400 Chinese or foreign universities and research institutes. Most of them finished their higher education after resumption of the National College Entrance Examination in 1978. The “Chinas top 50 universities for producing millionaires 2014” is released by China Aluminum Network university research team to let “Gaokao” takers in 2014 know what majors those millionaires studied during their university life and help those outstanding university students who aspire to start up their own business upon graduation can choose universities and major that suit them. Business Administration, Economics and Computer Science are the largest producer of Chinese millionaires As shown in the report, about 1800 of all millionaire entrepreneurs listed on China Rich Lists such as HurunRich List, Forbes Rich List, Southern Weekly Rich List (mainland) and New Wealth 500 Rich List during 1999-2013 once received higher education. Most of them (587 or 43.13% of the total), including ZongQinghou, Li Shufu, Shen Nanpeng, are from Business Administration and top the list released by China Aluminum Network this year. 111 millionaires are economics graduates, including Lu Zhiqiang, QiuGuogen, Du Xia, rank the second. The third place comes with 77 graduates studying computer science like Ma Huateng, Li Yanhong, ZhongHongwei. 44 millionaires once majored in chemistry including Li Tan, Chi Yufeng, LanWeiguang, rank the 4th place on the list. The fifth biggest millionaire producing major is mechanics and engineering which cultivated 40 millionaires like Xiang Wenbo, He Qinghua, ChenYizhou. The majors ranking 6-10th include control science and engineering (produced 36 millionaires like Lu Zengxiang, Lu Chuping, Wu Jianzhong), medicine (produced 35 millionaires including Chen Guangbiao, Hu Jiqiang, CheHongli), Electronic science and technology (produced 35 millionaires such as Ding Lei, Liu Zhiping, Wang Zhidong), Literature (produced 30 millionaires like Zhang Jindong, Yu Minhong, Yang Lan) and Architecture (produced 29 billionaires including Ren Zhengfei, Chen Jinsong and Zhangguiping). Management and Economics being the biggest producer of the rich, Science & Engineering and Computer Science emerging rapidly During 1999-2013, most of the millionaires concentrated in such hot majors under disciplines as Management, Economics, Engineering and Science, according to Deputy professor Feng Yongjun, a consultant expert on university application in China, university research team member of China alumni network and PhD of Xiamen University. Among these majors Business Administration is the most outstanding and dubbed as “cradle major of Chinese millionaires” followed by economics and science &engineering at the third place which has been emerging strongly in recent years. Taking a specific view, it can be found that hot subjects represented by business administration and economics are the largest millionaire producers in liberal and art filed while majors such as computer science and technology, chemistry, mechanic engineering and control science are the most productive source of millionaires. These majors are the most ideal choices for those excellent students who have the ambition of starting up their own business.
